Vestigo Training

Classroom v Online

Historically OSINT and Internet Intelligence & Investigation Training was reserved only for classroom-based training and for a good reason (which we will explain later). However, the events of the last two years with COVID-19 has dramatically changed the way we all work, and to a point, forced us all to work in different ways. If we had insisted on classroom-based training during the pandemic, we would not have trained a single person from 2020-2021. Instead, we turned our focus to live online training. This is as close as we could get to being in a classroom, the main difference being that the classroom was virtual using either GoToTraining or Microsoft Teams.

For 2022 we will offer both classroom-based training and Online Training. The question is, which is the most effective training for you or your team?

There is no question whatsoever that for the subject matter that we teach at Vestigo, you will always get a better experience in a physical classroom. Especially for those who are new to the world of digital and internet-based investigation. The classroom experience is significantly better for several reasons:

  1. Interaction between Trainer & Student is more fluid in the classroom.
  2. No distractions
  3. Simpler IT Setup in Classroom (We set it up for you)
  4. Guaranteed IT and Internet
  5. Easier for Trainer to pace the training
  6. Opportunity for peer networking

Further to this, based on feedback from nearly 1,000 recipients of online training during 2020 to 2021, most people say that whilst they enjoyed the training online, due to the sometimes technical nature of the subject matter, they would have preferred to attend a classroom-based course.

We appreciate that Online training has logistical benefits as there are no travel or accommodation requirements, but we always recommend attending classes in person. To promote this, Vestigo will never charge more to attend courses at our training centre in Liverpool City Centre.
